Round Top Antique Fair is a new venture for us, I’m a 58 year old virgin . . . Round Top virgin that is. Oh yeah I’ve heard tales about other dealers from Seattle making the twice annual pilgrimage but until now I’ve only been able to live vicariously. Of course I’ve documented Each. And. Every. Little. Thing.

And from—for you other Round Top virgins . . .

AntiqueWeekend is a GIANT marketplace that attracts dealers from around the world who both buy and sell. You can find American and European antiques, vintage decorator and collectable items, art in all forms, glass, crystal, guns, architectural elements, industrial and farm equipment, vintage automotive parts, machinery, signs, furniture, light fixtures, toys, clothes, re-purposed items, handcrafted goods, crafts, bits and pieces.  This is a public market, but you will also see buyers from antique and collectible stores across the country purchasing items for resale in their shops. Serious resale buyers tend to be here very early in the show and often purchase items as they come off the trucks and trailers.

Austin, Texas for two nights at Hotel Ella. Can I say lovely service, fabulous comfy bedding and great food? Ok I did.

BBQ? Check. Freedmans. Too spicey for this wimp but everyone else licked their plate.

South Compton? Yep. Favorite store Uncommon Objects. Incredible selection and killer merchandising.

Lunch? Magnolias in So Co (also known as South Compton) 10/10. Plain fare made into something special.

Next stop Blisswood B & B in Cat Springs.  An hour and a half from Austin and our home while we tour Round Top Antiques and environs. Stay tuned.
